Traveling With a Technologist

This week I had the amazing opportunity to travel to the National FFA Convention and ride in the van with the Penn State TeachAg! Technologist (@DGCornmon)! During our travels the conversations of technology arose, and the conversation of the top 3 technology tips for student teachers began. I quickly discovered that technology usage will not only vary greatly by the person but also by the school districts polices, here is what I uncovered...

Tip #1

    You can't do everything, pick one or two technologies that your school district permits and do them really well.

Tip #2
     Invest your time spent on assessments, in something that you can use from year to year.  For example utilize, google forms, moodle, google classrooms etc, something that you can come back to and utilize again.

Tip #3
     Become well aquatinted with Evernote, The Google Suit and near pod. In addition, become familiar with your districts grading systems and tools and put at much on these interactive applications as possible.

The final piece of advice was don't be afraid to utilize social media to advocate for yourself and your program in appropriate ways.
